Known for their geometric forms and high knot density, Ardabil rugs are made in Ardabil, a region located in northwestern Iran. And this is the same Ardabil that has its own long and illustrious history of Persian carpet making. Ardabil carpets have also been gifted to the complex of Sheikh Safi-ad-din in 1539 CE. They are counted among one of the finest carpets in the world. One of the Ardabil rugs is on display in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, England. Ardabil has been so influential that it is used at 10 Downing Street, the headquarters of the English Parliament and even Hitler had it in his Berlin office.
