Baluchi rugs are made by Baloch people residing in the south-western part of Afghanistan. Baluchistan is divided among Afghanistan, Eastern Iran, and Pakistan. That’s why they carry a blend of three different cultures on their designs. Known for their small size and resemblance to a prayer carpet, they are loosely woven and have a multi-color pallet. They often have soft woolen piles and feature bold and geometrical designs. Silk is added to the rugs for improving softness and luxury feel. These rugs can be used as floor mats and tapestries as well.
